Q:  What makes our boots fire boots?

A:  Our fire boots are manufactured to meet or exceed applicable standards of the NFPA and ANSI.  They are constructed with flame-retardant materials.  Each pair is proudly crafted in an ISO 9001 registered manufacturing facility. The NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) has been the leading advocate for fire prevention since 1896.  To learn more about the NFPA, visit www.nfpa.org.   

Q:  Are there any other safety considerations or limitations of use that I should be aware of?

A:  Structural fire fighting footwear is designed to provide limited thermal and physical protection for the feet and ankles, when worn properly.  The performance requirements for "structural fire fighting protective footwear" are outlined in the NFPA 1971 Standard on Protective Ensemble, 2000 Edition.  There are also other recognized standards which vary by location.  Be advised that this protective footwear is not intended for protection from radiological, biological or chemical hazards.  It is also not intended for proximity of fire entry situations.  Direct contact with flame or molten metal must be avoided.  BE ADVISED that no footwear offers complete protection or absolute protection, even when new. And their protective performance will decline with wear, tear, abrasion, and other damage associated with use.

Q:  Can I wear these boots for other purposes than for fire protection? 

A:  Yes, although these boots are built to meet the rigors of a firefighter's daily life, these boots provide great comfort and durability for other types of work.
